Born in the North East of England, BJGidman tends towards the maudlin at the drop of a flat cap. Writing her first book, ‘Happiness Is An Option’, made her appreciate life, whatever that might be. Her debut novella, ‘As It Is When It Was’ is a tale of six students finishing college and dealing with the complexities of life, love and liquor. Subsequent books are just waiting to exist in a form other than the film running in her head. Music inspires her writing, forming a soundtrack to the story. Sneaking in *song titles to tag chapters is a seriously innocent quirk. Being an indie author appeals to her indie nature, love of indie music and need to be in total creative control.
BjG has lived in a variety of places from Norton to Nottingham, from towns around the M25 to Brussels, but now lives by the sea in Kent. A teacher by trade with a specialism in creative arts, her life has evolved into translating texts for the Museum of Ixelles, and dabbling in art and graphic design.
